The
eleven RETAC Regions in Colorado were formed through
the passage of SB 00-180 in 2000. These eleven planning
Regions work closely with the local stakeholders
and the state EMTS to enhance the delivery of emergency
medical and trauma services. This is accomplished
through numerous and varied programs specific to
each Region.

Emergency Medical & Trauma Services Section (EMTS)
is responsible for several programs
related to the delivery of emergency medical and trauma care in the
state of Colorado.
Among these programs are:
Certification and investigation of Emergency Medical
Technicians
Review and Designation of Trauma Facilities
EMTS Provider Grant program administration
